HEALTH
The key factor to quality life.

The chapters in the region have sponsored health fairs for elementary and middle schools; participated in Asthma walks, poster contests, health kids day, and new dental experiences.

EDUCATION
Essential for our youth to be able function in the society in which we live.

Of late the region has team together to participate in an annual Regional African American Read-In. All chapters read books to children and youth written by black authors. The Read-In all took place on the same date in February, celebrating literacy and Black History month. Chapters hosted poetry and essay contests, purchased school supplies and uniforms for disadvantage students.

EMPLOYMENT
Introducing young people and training them for the world of work is top priority if youth are to become economically independent.

All chapters have supported local school district in their career day activities. Students have gained a real eye view of the work place during National Take Your Daughter to Work Day and dressing for success programs.

RECREATION
An essential part of the lifestyle of all children. Leisure awareness is the tool to reduce boredom and idle minds.

First time experiences are often the best, Continentals have provided children in our communities the opportunity to attend collegiate and professional football, basketball, hockey and golf events. We have joined the National Women Sports foundation in their GO Girl Go! program designed to get girls off the sofa and playing sports and exercising.

Celebrating holidays to ensure children in need have a joyous holiday season, Continentals have adopted families at Christmas, held Easter egg hunts and Valentine Day dances.

ARTS & HUMANITIES
Provides a variety of cultural activities to enhance and open the door to the minds of the children who would otherwise miss this experience. A trip to the museum, the symphony, the ballet or the opera allows a young mind to soar at the melodic rhythms of the classical arts. Continentals believe it is necessary for our children to be well developed classically.
